For pleasure riding, the western saddle is the best.
The English saddle is for jumping/steeplechase or polo.
This is a roping saddle.
For cutting horses, use this saddle.

There are many more kinds of saddles. Each is designed to help the rider perform their best on the horse.
Are any of you horse lovers? What kinds of activities do you like to do with your horse?
I have four horses. I also have a horse trailer with a living quarters in it, and my favorite "downtime" activity is to go horse camping in the national parks that have horse trails. Riding, hiking with the dog, sitting around a campfire at night...can't beat it for destressing!
ReplyDeleteCongrats on your new contract. I'm sure you'll be missed at Entangled, but your readers will be happy with all those new books!
Thank you so much Vickie!
DeleteI haven't been on a horse in years, but my dad rides regularly and has spent many days of the past several weeks rounding up cattle to be moved for the summer.
ReplyDeleteI LOVE that your blog is about saddles today because my brother actually hand-crafts saddles. They are beautiful and stunning works of art. I am so proud of him!
Wow Paula that is so neat that he makes saddles. It is truly an art to craft them. How long does it usually take to make a saddle?
