Happy Release Day to Jenn McKinley

Do you love mysteries? Then I have the book for you. It's release day for my buddy, Jenn McKinely. She's also a New York Times bestselling author. The book is about cats and cupcakes. What more could you want?

Melanie and Angie are determined to win the Challenge to the Chef to promote their Fairy Tale Cupcakes bakery. Mel's mentor from culinary school, Vic Mazzotta, may be one of the judges, but Mel and Angie will have to win fair and square. But, when Vic's dead body is found inside a freezer truck, Mel and Angie will need to use their best judgment to find the cold-blooded killer or they may lose more than the contest- they may lose their lives.

So let's party for Jenn's release day with a giveaway. $10.00 gift card to Amazon. Post a comment about mysteries, cats or cupcakes and you'll be entered in a drawing. I'll pick the winner on Wednesday.

  3. Cats are just so awesome! You never have to worry about a cat because it is its own "person". I love mysteries and cupcakes, so adding cats, and cupcakes to a mystery just makes me want to read it more!!

  9. Cats are sneaky, deceptively quiet and can turn your life upside down with love and not too much affection; I've had several cats and loved them all. They have character, are independent and when you walk in the door at night welcome you with open arms? And mysteries? Cats are mysterious so they make the perfect partners in mysteries.

  10. Sounds like a fun book. I've always been a fan of cats (in mysteries and life), cupcakes (who isn't!?), and when you add mystery... they all seem to go together very well. Plus, of course, cupcakes are huge these days. There's even a TV show devoted to 'em -- Cupcake Wars.

Funnily enough (is that even a word?) I keep running into cats lately. I wonder if that means I'm supposed to adopt that danged kitten from the shelter....

  13. Cozy mysteries and steampunk are two genre that are still fairly new to me and that I plan to do more reading it. The cozies win it in terms of cute and heartwarming feel! The covers makes me want to snatch them up and dive right in.

Congratulations to Jenn and wishing her book all the best!

  14. Love mysteries, love cats but I'm allergic, not big on desserts, but did make banana cupcakes with cream cheese frosting last week for my bridge club and my hubby's family visit.

  15. I can just see my cats (any one of the five that we've had) investigating cupcakes or anything else going on! Our first two knew they were not allowed on the kitchen counters so they would sit on our barstools and watch a rotisserie chicken cooking! They were a hoot. Thanks for the book/author info!

  16. The cover of this book will grab attention on the shelves! I love cats! The two we have let us live with them and are precious...most of the time!

    Thanks for the author/book recommendation.

  17. Oh my! Did you say cats AND cupcakes? My two favorite things. Cats are so funny and cupcakes are so yummy. I can see it now. Me sitting in a comfy chair eating a cupcake with a purring cat in my lap and reading this delightful mystery. Does life get any better than this? Thanks for heads-up on this new book.

  18. Cool cover! Love cupcakes especially chocolate ones and they are the right size for a nice snack. I like cats but cats don't like me. I'm allergic to them so I can't be around them too much especially the ones at my sister's home. Going to have to check out this book.

  19. I love cats but I think I love chocolate cupcakes more. I lost my kitty this summer after 16 1/2 years of chasing birds and rolling in the grass. I blame my sweet tooth on getting older. My 48th birthday is Friday.
