Toys

Everyone has special memories of their favorite toys. If you're lucky, maybe you still have some of them. I loved most of my toys to pieces, literally. But that is what toys are for, right? Woody and Buzz would definitely agree. If I want to reminisce, I have to look at pictures of toys on the internet.

My brothers and I shared Indian Joe. He was awesome!

I can't tell you how many knots on the head we got with Clackers.

I was always disappointed when the Sea-Monkeys didn't build an underwater castle.

Paper dolls provided hours of fun.

Chatty Cathy was my best friend.

I was the master of Jacks.

And I had a miniature sewing machine that look just like my mother's real one.

What were your favorite toys?

  1. I was a huge barbie fan. I had a Donnie Osmund doll who was married to Superstar Barbie in my world.

I also liked Charlie's Angels and owned all the dolls and the van.

My daughter (to my surprise) does not like barbies at all. I can't figure out how that happened. : )

  2. Wow. Chatty Cathy. I think my mom had one of those. LOL. I used to love those paper cut out dolls. My favorite toys back in the day (which have all been reintroduced to "today's" market in less successful versions) were Weebles (I even had the tree house), Strawberry Shortcake & Friends, Holly Hobby Dolls (anybody remember those?), and Darci Doll by Kenner. But my favorite, favorite toy from my earliest memories was a doll called Melody that, when you squeezed her hands, feet, tummy, etc., made musical notes. The doll also taught you how to tie, button, and buckle. I never went anywhere without that thing.

  3. My favorite was my Calamity Jane doll and palomino horse. My cousins had the black Bart and some other guy and their horses. We played outside and had a blast.
