ReplyDeleteBut, a fifth grade teacher is sharing her writing class with me. We're adding detail to personal narrative drafts. Today's lesson: looking at published text to find author's craft that we can use in our work.

ReplyDeleteA picture book author, Kristyn Crow, is coming to our school district in November. I also have permission to find a 3rd to 5th grade level novelist for later in the year.
I know this may sound corny but after finding your books and blog it has opened up a new avenue of finding new authors to read and more books and characters to fall in love with. I won a book here and read "Gone with a Handsomer Man" and fell in love with Teeny Templeton. Now I'm reading her backlog and loving it. Who would have thought I would be seeking out author pages, checking out what they read, checking out their blogs and so forth. It is a vicious cycle but in a good way. It keeps opening up new avenues for me to discover.
