No Diet Friday

I'm on a diet and I'm doing a very good job of sticking to it. (16 pounds in 6 weeks) We're talking low-carb, low-fat and low-calorie. So I'm eating a lot of cardboard. Being a foodie by nature, this is not easy. Since I can't indulge my taste buds, I'm indulging my eyes. Let's wallow in carbs.

We'll pretend it's breakfast. You can eat anything you want and not gain an ounce. Which of the following meals would you chose.

1)Crepes

2)Pancakes

3) Waffles

4)French Toast

I like Belgium waffles with bacon and maple syrup. I like the crispness of waffles and the fact that those little squares hold lots of syrup. I'm OCD about having a bite of waffle, and then a bite of bacon. If I run out of bacon before I eat all the waffle, I won't eat the rest of the waffle. Normally, I don't even eat bacon, but if there's waffles involved, it's a must.

My husband's fav is French toast with honey. He's a beekeeper's grandson so he always choses honey over syrup.

Which one is your favorite and why? And don't say eggs or oatmeal or high fiber cereal. This is a fantasy breakfast.

  1. I'm a waffle fan myself - most likely because it isn't something I have at home - loaded with maple syrup. And I want my bacon to be the thick slice kind and maple flavored, of course.

  2. I would choose the French Toast, with a side order of sausage... loaded with maple syrup and butter.... Oh god now I have a terrible craving and I just had breakfast...

  3. Mmmmmm waffle and bacon. You know, of course, you could always order a bacon waffle (with the bits of bacon actually stirred into the batter before they even cook it) and absolutely get a bit of bacon in every bite. *G*

I would go with the stack of pancakes -- nice and hot with cold maple syrup and cold, cold butter. Yuuuuum!

  5. Crepes please. The appeal is in the gooey goodness of whipped cream and strawberries. I would add a slice of ham in the mix. I have had those before and much to my surprise they were delicious.

  6. But in the bacon waffles, the bacon isn't crisp!

  10. Oooh...The crepes sound so good. I'm a foody and don't get a chance to have crepes that often. If they have a cheesy type filling they would be my number one pick. Yumm...
