Signing Saturday

I just recently discovered The Black Keys. They sing to the rocker girl in me. But it wasn't until I heard "The Lengths" that I fell hard. This song reminds me of The Rolling Stones in their Black and Blue days.

Here's my favorite Rolling Stones song of all time.

Do you have a new find that reminds you of an old sound?

  1. I love The Black Keys! I discovered them in 2010, I think it. They had their first performance on The Late Late Show With Craig Ferguson on CBS. In fact, they come back often to play. I love that Ferguson has musical guests. I find more new music and groups that way. It's really nice.

It's funny because I've been fiddling around with playlists for novels and The Black Keys were one of the groups I was eyeing to add to it.

One group that totally reminds me of the old sounds is The Soundtrack Of Our Lives, especially their song "Thrill Me." It has that smooth yet funky sound that reminds me of the 70s.

  2. Oh! I forgot about Adele. Never heard of her until the other day and she reminds me of Stevie Nicks and Bonnie Raitt.

  3. I've discovered new groups by making my playlist. I had no idea I loved alternative rock so much! (Should have figured. I cut my teeth on rock and roll, but I like other sounds too.) Newest find is Blue October. I love their lyrics.

  6. Karen, I love that one! That's one of the songs I hear a lot of Raitt/Nicks in.
