  6. eBooks make it so much easier to take books when I travel. It's great to take whatever I want to read -- and it can be different authors, topics, etc. Better yet, I can read anywhere, whenever I want. Can't beat that with a stick!

  7. I don't have an ereader (hint, hint) so I honestly don't know, but it seems like it'd be nice to have all your books with you wherever you went! I'm excited about THE CHRISTMAS COOKIE CHRONICLES!! Thanks for the contest Lori!

  9. Although nothing will ever take the place of sitting down and turning the pages of a good book. I have found that there are some benefits to
e-Books. For one there is no waiting time to get them. Two- I get to read reviews right away and because there are thousands of books out there,
I have the opportunity to be introduced to new authors.

  11. E-books are awesome because of the wider range of stories that can now be offered. I really feel like the whole industry is being rejuvenated. And I love being able to shop from my couch, or my car (not while driving of course!) or anywhere else.

  12. It's nice to not have to wait so long to get the books and to not have to fight the crowd at bookstores. Plus, ebooks don't require bookshelves that take up lots of space. I still enjoy real books, but ebooks definitely have their advantages.

  14. Ebooks allow me to read one handed which leaves a hand free to pet my cat, which pleases her immensely :)

  15. I am fired up about e-books now but I was slow coming on board. I love the feel of a book in my hands, curled up on the couch, turning those pages. Then I started reading e-books on my iTouch using various e-reader apps. I have to say that I love it!!! I can haul all of my books with me and read whatever one trips my trigger at the time. And I can get the book instantly!! Plus! Plus!!

Thanks for the fantastic giveaway!! I would LOVE a Kindle Fire!!

  16. It's an interesting tablet. Does'nt seem to be as complicated as an iPad and certainly less expensive. E-books are certainly an a good way to take your book with you. Thanks for the chance to win.

  17. Don't have a Kindle yet, but if I can't win one, will get one for Christmas. The best thing I think I'll like will be having lots of books with me without lugging them along in suitcases, etc. Also, many of me favorite authors are starting to release some of their work only in this format.

  18. Ebooks have saved my marriage!! My husband no longer threatens to burn my books since they are all condensed in one little package. I am not a pack rat per se but when it comes to my books, HANDS OFF!! I have books from my teen years yet and yes I really do re-read them. :-)

  19. I love eBooks! Don't have to wait for them to ship, can carry hundreds around in my purse, my overflowing book shelves thank me, other people can't see what I'm reading (nothing like sitting in a waiting room with an erotic cover showing LOL)

  20. "E" for economical! Plus, you have a huge library at your fingertips without having to lug around all those books. It's the future...oh, wait--the future's here!

  21. I love e-books because they all stay in one place and do not walk off! Such is the life of my hardbacks and paperbacks in my house...that little " not me" person tends to move them about frequently! Another big plus is that they do not take up as muck space on my bookshelves!

  22. I love ebooks. they are cheaper that regular books. Plus there are tons free on different sites. Most authors have free read on their websites. i love that I can take my nook and have hundreds of books to choose from. I love that I can just buy a book where ever I am at and not have to go to the bookstore and search for it. I just type it in and I am there. Barnes & noble has all kinds of free books and their site right now.
I would love to win the Kindle Fire. I would also love to win the book, i looks great and love the cover.

I can read with one hand and not have to get hand cramps from holding a paperback open.
    They are small and lightweight!!!!
I can have soooo many books on it, it's like having my very own library at my fingertips!!!

  25. I find I am buying more ebooks (and loving them) because they do not take up any additional space. I have so many print books that I have trouble finding spaces for them. Ebooks allow you to keep them all in one space, and if you are going to be going somewhere, you can pack all of them with you. I spent a week house & pet sitting for my brother this past summer and was able to take all my ebooks with me (although I also took a few print books too).

  27. I'm in the market for an ereader and lately I've noticed a lot of ebooks that are only available in that format. It looks like sooner or later I'm going to have to go digital, although I will still read prints.

I'm fired up to expanding my reading horizon. There is a reading market, most notably indie books that hasn't fully been tapped into. Being an avid reader I love discovering wonderful reads that are out there but not easily accessible to a non-digital reader. I'm fired up for your Twilight novellas and for the convenience of having instant access to hundreds of books in my hands!

Thank you so much for the chance, Lori.

  29. I'm fired up about e-books for a lot of reasons. As a reader, it's the portability and instant access features that pull me in. With an e-reader in my purse, I have a book I can pull out anywhere, anytime, even in unexpected places and waits. Easy to read in bed or on the go. No more piles of books to trip over, no more magazines or newspapers cluttering up the tables while collecting dust. Have I mentioned I'm *horribly* allergic to dust? Paper is our enemy and when it comes to reading... it's *all* paper. Sigh. And yet I adore reading.

And now, sadly, with traditional brick and mortar book stores vanishing and the shelf space of stores that do still sell books shrinking, I find myself turning more and more to online book buying sources which means I have to wait for shipping. E-books instantly download. No waiting there, just pure 100% instant gratification.

Oh, and let's not forget some of the great ebook only promotional offers sites like Amazon.com run with such amazing pricing. It's a win all the way around.

As a writer, I'm fascinated by how the technology will change the publishing industry and how I - as an author - will flourish or flub as I try to tackle the challenges.

  32. I would love to have a tablet and ebooks - pretty convenient for reading "anytime" instead of just at home.

  33. Ebooks are great because their convenient, fairly priced, and you can take them anywhere. I love being able to sample books as well. I think that's my favorite feature. I have also found a lot of new-to-me authors that publish ebooks only. It has definitely broadened my reading experience. I love being able to read literally anywhere.

  34. eBooks are all about instant gratification--you can have the book you're craving in your hand from the store in a matter of seconds. And you don't have to carry your library on your back when you travel!

    ReplyDelete
  35. ebooks are great because you don't have to worry about losing your place, bending or riping the pages or misplacing your book!

    ReplyDelete
  36. I love e-books because they have introduced me to many new authors I may not have come across before. It's opened the door to indie's which I love and it's made buying books so easy and hassle free. I can find a book on amazon and download it and start reading it in just a few minutes. It's also nice to take my kindle out and about with me. Just stick it in my purse and when I'm on vacation, or at the doctors office or sitting in my truck waiting to pick up the kids after school, I have a mass amount of books to choose from and if I feel like scrolling through and picking up a previously read book just to skim through my fav. parts, it's quick and easy. I also have to point out, I stare at my smexy covers in private and none of my kids would be gawking and asking what kind of book I am reading and when I'm in public and around people they can just assume I'm a smarty pants reading about something stuffy and boring and not some insane hot bedroom scene :) Also, the biggest plus is the happy face my husband has on as e-books have given us some breathing room and my husband's fear of waking up one morning and drowning in a sea of books is just a dream and no longer a potential reality :)

  37. I love ebooks because you can get them instantly at your fingertips. You have all these sources to get anything you want and it can all be saved on an ereader device. You can carry all your books with you all the time so if you want to switch it up and read an old favorite you can. I love the fact that I can keep it to myself what I am reading so if I want to read an erotic book in public I can. Ebooks rock as far as I am concern.

  38. Ebooks and ereaders (I have a 2nd gen. Kindle) make a world of difference to me. It's not just the ability to change font size or the quick download of books. Or even the the way I can take hundreds of books and games with me anywhere.
It's also not having my house overflowing with books, which it would be if I could have kept reading like I used to. And having the ability to try a book before I buy it (no more books that seem like something I'd like, then finding out they are not that good and I've already spent the money.
I can borrow ebooks from my library while I'm at home. I also listen to quite a few books. I work at a factory that allows me to listen to books while doing my job (sewing). Books have always been a large part of my life simply because they let you explore worlds and people I could never visit on my own.
I could probably go on even more, but those are the most important reasons.

  45. I am one of those people who have obsessed about print books and keeping them perfect. I could never fathom not reading from an actual print book. However, within the past couple of years that has slowly changed and I am now IN LOVE with ebooks and ereaders!!! I can carry an entire library within this sleek, compact thing - how cool!! Excellent for a "mood" reader, lol. Not to mention it is wonderful to be able to put books in categories so that when you are in the mood for a certain genre, you can just go there and click through until a book you want to read jumps out at you! I also am in love with readers that have the backlight so that I can read in bed. Ebooks are awesome and I truly think that they increase the amount that people read!

You don't have to wait for months....want to read a book...order it and it shows up in less than 60 seconds. Can't begin to tell you how much I love this! Also....ebooks and readers are giving everyone a chance to read....even my friend's 93 year old grandmother is loving her KINDLE! She can adjust the font size and it doesn't hurt her hands to hold it either!!!!

  54. Oh, let me count the ways: Adore that I can take e-books traveling and my luggage weighs half as much now. Discovering out-of-print works that I missed the first time. The greater access to characters via short stories that can be published asap, not waiting for an anthology. (Bridgerton epilogues, kick-starter novellas) The free classic literature (Jane!) via Gutenberg.
Love being able to check out library books, no matter the day, time or weather, and not have to worry about returning them on time/over due fees, they just of my reader.
The e-reader being lighter than a paperback and any font size I want that day are also top reasons for having an e-reader.
Still wish e-books came as a freebie or $1-2 add on for pre-ordering a hardbound or paperback new release. Some books I'll want both formats. Others happy to have just one or the other. Also adore the easy ability to tag favorite lines and scenes.

When you travel, it's a must! In addition, you can have your own complete library of books right at your fingertips. No paper books taking up room and getting older with that musty smell. Books will always be new on the Kindle!

  65. I love books in any way shape or form. Ebooks does make it easier to bring more than a couple with you when traveling. I also have the chance to read many books from other countries, to enjoy books that I never even knew existed. I will always love hard copy books, the touch and feel of them. Thank you for an awesome give-way, and thank you being the writer that you are.

  68. I love e-books because of the convenience of carrying hundreds of titles in one electronic device smaller than a hard back, thinner than most paperbacks. My daughter and I can use separate collections for her books and mine. With the Kindle, you can download free or low priced games for playing when you have a few minutes spare time waiting in line or for a doctor, etc. My favorite part of e-books is I can read one handed while I'm rubbing my hubby to sleep with the other. No need to move my hand from his back to turn a page, or struggle to keep my pages from flying over. I never thought I'd say it, but I am beginning to love e-books more than traditional books! :)

  71. Lori, I just haven't been able to jump on the ebook bandwagon yet. I love paperbacks. I know that I will have to get an ereader soon, though, because so many stories are just coming out as ebooks now. There ARE many advantages to ebooks, but I have been resistant to change.

    ReplyDelete
  72. I wasn't sure I'd want to switch from print to ereader/ebooks. I love the feel and smell of books in print. But I literally have no more room for print books. They are covering every flat surface of my bedroom and office and find their way everywhere else.

I love the handiness of the ereader/ebook combo too. No waiting to go to the bookstore or for delivery. Plus if I don't know the word I can look it up without having to get out another book or turn on the computer. Plus I've had so many of my print books destroyed by friends who borrowed them. Now lending is more difficult so I can give an excuse and avoid book damage or let them borrow it on their own device, no water damage, broken spines or folded corners.

I still buy some print here and there but I love my ebooks!!!

  74. I like that ebooks are more affordable than paperbacks or hardbacks. I LOVE to read and spend a lot of money each year on books. In most cases, an ebook does not cost as much as a new release, so being able to download it AND not spend as much makes me (and my husband) very happy! LOL! Plus, it cuts down on the clutter in my home! I do love the feel of a book in my hand but my ebook works just as well!

  75. I love having my library small enough to fit in my bag. I was forever stuffing paperbacks in there, now I've got my current book with me, and my next book handy, even if its a new book or re-reading an old one (I do that alot). I never thought I'd give up my paperbacks, but I have to say I love having a portable library (instead of just a portable book).

I love ebooks because I read every day. Sometimes what I have isn't what I want to read. I like the hunt for a new story and then getting to put my eyes on it right away! The rush of impulse is nice too!

    ReplyDelete
  82. Nothing will take the place of a real book in your hands but with an e-reader I wouldn't have to find a place to store all the books purchased over the years. E-readers are quick to get, easy to store, and ready at a minutes notice.

    ReplyDelete
  83. I really love my books. I collect them for several reasons. I collect old books. They tell us so much about the time in which they were published. I have a nice collection of children's books which I started buying when my children were born and expanded when I became a children's librarian. I have research books, craft books, books for the workshop, LOTS of cookbooks, and of course, all the fiction. My problem is the number of all these books. My husband has built lots of bookcases - over 40 now. They are all over-full and I have as many books in boxes to be read or find shelf space for. A major portion of these books are romances and suspenses. the plan was to get rid of those which were not keepers as soon as they were read. I am trying, but good books keep coming out faster than I can read. In addition to that, there have been some really good books that have come out in E-form only and I can't get them. I know I can download them on my computer, but that doesn't work for me to read them.

I need a new way to get my fiction reads, one that won't cave in the walls of my house. Aside from saving storage space, an e-reader would make travel so much easier. I usually grab a dozen books or so when we hit the road and buy more on the trip. Who knows what I'll feel like reading. Add to that my computer, and too much room is taken up. Those e-readers that have internet capabilities would reduce a large tub of stuff to something I can put into my purse. How great will that be. I can always have a great selection of books on hand whenever I want one.

    Thanks for the great giveaway.

  87. Instant gratification. I don't have to go out to the bookstore (which I love to do) or wait to receive it in the mail. Ebooks are great to take with you when you travel.

  89. I just gave away 100+ books that I had acquired over the years because they were taking over my storage. lol I was just telling my hubby the other day that I needed to get with the times and purchase a Kindle. I live in a town that is 80 miles away from the nearest bookstore, so how awesome is it to be able to download a book when I felt like it? Right now I read them from my computer. :-) Ebooks rock.

  90. I'm so fired up about ebooks! I've been carrying around a couple of books in my purse everywhere I go. Reading between the kids' after-school and sports events is my only down time. But the extra weight has started hurting my shoulder. With an ereader, I'll have any book I want at my fingertips, and they'll be with me everywhere I go!

Plus, shopping for ebooks will be sooo easy and fun. I can browse anywhere anytime. Currently, hubs has limited me to buying only the books I can carry. (He used to hold them for me because they were heavy, but I'd just load up my arms again and buy twice as much!) I can't wait to tease him 'cause an ereader holds a few thousand...and I can carry them ALL!

What an awesome giveaway...I can't wait to read The Cookie Christmas Chronicles...in ebook format!

  91. I love ebooks for a few reasons....I can download and be reading in seconds, they are great for traveling, and last but not least, I always have a book in my purse, and with ebooks, it's always the same size no matter how big the book is. Helps my shoulders and my aching back. :)

  93. After filling up 5 bookcases in my house, my husband told me I couldn't get any more books until I got rid of some. Now I have 5 bookcases full, plus 1,200 ebooks (that he doesn't know about!) The best of both worlds. Love being able to carry around that many.

  94. I love e books they are easier to hold you can take a whole collection with you. You don't have to drive somewhere to get them. You can pre order them and the are delivered as soon as the release day is here. I have a kindle and think the fire will only add to the love of e books

  96. I like the way you can buy and download ebooks in seconds and you can put so many books in one place. The convenience is wonderful. No more books shelves to dust and my books can go everywhere with me.
I also enjoy the sample chapters you can download and read before you buy.

  97. I love that it is so convenient. You can literally bring your whole bookshelf along with you and read it any time you like. Ebooks are WAY cheaper than physical prints, and it makes it much more affordable too. Thanks for the giveaway!

  98. I love the convenience of it and also being able to get a book anytime you want. I would love to win the kindle fire. I would love it because it is also more convenient than to carry a book around. Thanks for the chance to win and hope that you pick me for the giveaway.

  99. I know very little about the kindle's. I've heard they are great. I'm a huge bookworm. I think this would be an easy way to always have a book on hand. I wouldn't have to wait on a book, I could get it instantly. And it would be cheaper and take up less space. I could have all of my buddies ( favorite authors) with me. Books help keep my sanity. Wining one would be great!! S Gaddis san angelo tx
