Adios, August!

Yipee! My least favorite month of the year is over! In fact, I think we should outlaw August and instead have two Octobers (my favorite month).

To celebrate the end of August, I'm giving away a copy of Michael Lee West's Gone With A Handsomer Man. I was cleaning out my closet and found an extra copy I'd bought to give away that I had forgotten about. I love Michael Lee's voice. It's been a long time since a writer charmed me the way she does. If you'd like a copy of Gone With A Handsomer Man just post here. I'll draw the winner tomorrow.

Ahh, another eleven months August free. What about you? What month do you hate most? Which one is your favorite?

  1. I have been wanting to read this one - what a perfect way to greet September! I would have to say that maybe March would be my least favorite - the left over snow is dirty and muddy and the spring showers haven't started yet to 'clean' things up.

  2. I like August, but my favorite month is October. I love this month because it is my bday month, plus halloween. Football is also in full swing. Love the Iowa Hawkeyes. I also like because it is not too hot and not too cold. You get to start wearing sweatshirs and sweaters. The colors of leaves are starting to chance also. My dad, my friend Rey, and a few old school classmates also share my bday month. I am a new reader of your books and can't wait to check out some more.

  4. I've never read Michael Lee West, so I'd love to win this. Thanks for the author suggestion!
My least favorite month depends on where we're living! For the 2 years we were on the East Coast, the fall months were my ABSOLUTE favorite! Now that we're back in Texas, I can't stand August. It's just too darn hot! I'm looking forward to any month here with cooler temps so that we can enjoy the outdoors! I miss reading on the deck on a beautiful day!

  5. I have to agree with August being the worst month of the year--it's usually too hot and humid to enjoy. However, April runs a close second because I'm waiting for the weather to be more enjoyable and sometimes April doesn't cooperate.

    Many thanks for the giveaway.

  6. Thanks for the chance. I haven't read Michael but I will check it out.
September is my favorite month. It's my bday month and Dad always took us for a ride to the Pocono Mtns. to see the foliage. Until the year a deer jumped off a hill and landed on the car! Love the crispness in the air and getting out the sweatshirts.
Don't really have a month I hate. Guess I'm just too easygoing.

  7. I haven't read any of Michael Lee's books yet - would love to try one. I'm not too fond of January. Seems to be a let down after the busy holidy season & last year we had way too much snow!

  8. This is such a treat and a wonderful way to start September. I'm ready for a new month, a new season and some new challenges. I don't have a least favourite month, but the months of February and March are the least exciting for me. The days are sluggish and routine, there is still recovering from the holidays and nothing much happens. I do like the month of May, lots of festivities in the household, birthdays, anniversaries, and the gardening season begins (for my mom and aunt anyways).

  10. Ragweed, heat and humidity in Missouri makes August one of my least favorite months, but we have such a change in seasons, I love them all. Haven't read Michael Lee, but certainly would like to win it and give it a good reading. :)

  11. I dislike January, even though my lovely daughter was born on January 28th. I hated January when I lived in Chicago, it was cold, windy and the month was too long for me.the 2nd reason my mom died in Jauary 12th so its a sad time and my daughter never got the chance to know her, sure we live in fla. but its still a lousy month. My favorite is April, I was born on April 17th and so was my twin brothers, but April to me is a new begining and springtime, and I love spring flowers. I've never read Micheal Lee so she's be a new author for me, and it seems like a good book.

  13. August is one of my least favorite month next to January. Not much happens in the first month and it usually is a let down after the busy holidays and COLD. I would say June is my favorite month wit the beginning of summer and vacations!

  15. I dislike March because by that time I am tired of the cold but I don't want the wet April to be here. However, being in Texas also, I would give anything for cold - or even 90 degree weather! However I can't wait for next August because that's when I graduate from nursing school! So August, please hurry back!! :)
